National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) members and supporters will participate in a National Day of Action this Sunday, October 24. Working alongside volunteers for federal, state and local campaigns, NJDC activists will take part in a variety of different activities including phone banking, door knocking, letter-writing and campaign events.

The goals of the Day of Action are to help with get out the vote (GOTV) efforts for candidates who support the values of the American Jewish community and to show that Jewish Democrats are enthusiastic about our candidates and engaged in election efforts. Activities will take place in states including New York, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Arizona, Georgia, New Jersey, Colorado, and Maryland.

“Jewish Democrats have a real opportunity to make a significant difference in key races across the country during this election cycle,” said David A. Harris, President and CEO of NJDC. “That is why we are excited that our members will be taking time out of their busy schedules to get involved with GOTV efforts.”

The Day of Action is yet another step being taken by the NJDC to educate voters about the serious issues facing our country. NJDC has been working throughout the election cycle to debunk false statements being promoted by right-wing groups such as the Emergency Committee for Israel, while condemning and exposing outlandish statements from Republican and Tea Party candidates. At the same time, NJDC informs voters about the state of critical races via email, the NJDC blog and social networks.
