Jewish Democrats Hail Obama Administration for Support of Israel at United Nations Security Council

The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) commends the Obama Administration and the United Nations Security Council for rejecting the Palestinian resolution that was before the council today.

“Once again, President Obama and his administration has demonstrated its unrivaled support for Israel at the United Nations. Unlike the previous US administration, President Obama and his administration has maintained a 100% pro-Israel voting record,” said Greg Rosenbaum, NJDC’s chairman. “The Palestinian proposed resolution sought to set an arbitrary deadline for a peace deal while ignoring the legitimate security needs of the state of Israel. Simply put, this is completely unacceptable.

“Rather than simply abstaining, our nation took a firm stand in voting against a resolution that would have done far more harm than good. Thanks to the leadership of the United States – particularly Ambassador Samantha Power and Secretary of State John Kerry – this flawed resolution will not come to reality. Our thanks go to President Obama and his administration for continuing his long track record of support for the Jewish state.”
