Mission:
NJDC maximizes Jewish support for Democrats at the federal and state levels of government.
NJDC also educates Democratic elected officials and candidates to increase support for Jewish domestic and foreign policy priorities.
We do this to promote both social justice in America and a secure, democratic Jewish State of Israel.
Our Work:
- NJDC works to provide voter education, keep Democratic elected officials informed about issues of concern to the American Jewish community, and dispel the smear campaigns launched by right-wingers against Democratic candidates for office on the state and federal levels.
- NJDC is truly on the offensive; we're taking the initiative to educate the American Jewish community about important pro-Israel and pro-peace steps taken by this Administration and by our House and Senate Democratic leaders. At the same time, NJDC is rallying Jewish support for other key issues for this Administration and the American Jewish community - such as health insurance reform, energy independence, women's rights and the separation of church and state. We will continue to work aggressively to combat an increasingly right-wing agenda being championed by the Republican leadership in the House and by Republican elected officials on the state level.
- NJDC's persuasion work is reflected everyday in the media - in both Jewish and national mainstream media, and online in key opinion-setting blogs like The Huffington Post, Politico and Talking Points Memo.
- The White House, the Party, and our friends in Congress count on NJDC daily to help educate American Jews on the issues - and to help reflect and share American Jews' thoughts and concerns back to office holders. NJDC has never worked as closely and as widely with so many key Democratic officials in Washington.
