Representative Brad Sherman has served California's 27th congressional district since 1997. A staunch environmentalist, Sherman passed the Sherman Amendment in his second year in Congress, securing 700 million dollars for the acquisition of environmentally important lands. He is vocal leader in the Congress on human rights issues and a strong relationship between the US and Israel. He is a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility, a balanced budget and upholding Social Security and Medicare benefits. Sherman serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee, Financial Services Committee and Judiciary Committee. He lives in Sherman Oaks, California with his wife Lisa Sherman.
