Representative Susan Davis has represented California's 53rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2001. Prior to her election to congress, Davis served on the San Diego City School Board and served 3 terms in the California State Assembly. Davis has introduced legislation encouraging highly qualified teachers to teach in low-income schools, legislation giving consumers access to info about dangerous dietary supplements and legislation adding protections for vulnerable veterans from fraud. She currently serves on the Armed Service Committee, Education and Labor Committee and Committee on House Administration. Davis and her husband, Steve, reside in San Diego and have two children and two grandchildren.
