Ted Deutch was elected to represent Florida’s 19th district on April 13, 2010 in a special election to fill the seat of retiring Representative Robert Wexler. He serves on the Judiciary Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee. During his service as a Florida State Senator, Deutch worked to ensure the 2007 passage of the Protecting Florida’s Investments Act, which barred Florida’s retirement funds from investment in Iran and Sudan. Deutch is a staunch advocate for Israel and for progressive policies that benefit our nation’s women, seniors, and children. When home in his district, he resides in Boca Raton with his wife Jill and three children.
