WASHINGTON, DC - Brad Bauman, a veteran communications operative with nearly a decade of campaign and Capitol Hill experience, has been named as the new communications director for the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC). Bauman most recently served as Communications Director for Representative Mary Jo Kilroy (D-OH).
“Brad’s powerful experience working with Democratic candidates and elected officials makes him a tremendous addition to our team, and we’re thrilled to have him,” said David A. Harris, President and CEO of NJDC. “He brings a strong voice and an aggressive style that will help us continue to maximize Jewish support for Democrats at the federal and state level, especially at this critical juncture.”
Bauman, who began his tenure last week, cited his excitement to be working to maximize Jewish support for Democrats in order to promote social justice and a secure, democratic Jewish State of Israel. “At the root of Democratic Party values is a deeply-held belief in social justice. That same core forms the center of the values of the Jewish people,” said Bauman, Communications Director for NJDC. “I am proud to be serving an organization that promotes the beliefs and ideals that are shared by American Jews and the Democratic Party on a daily basis.”
Prior to working as Communications Director for Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy, Bauman served as the Communications Manager for the Sunlight Foundation. Bauman also served as Communications Director for Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH) and was the Communications Director for Kilroy’s 2008 campaign for Congress - which was rated as one of the top ten congressional races in America during that election cycle. In 2006, Bauman was the campaign manager for Peter Franchot’s successful campaign for Maryland Comptroller.
