NJDC Lauds Confirmation of Rep. Wasserman Schultz as DNC chair

WASHINGTON, DC- The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) today enthusiastically applauded the confirmation of Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the Chair of the Democratic National Committee. NJDC Chair Marc R. Stanley and President and CEO David A. Harris jointly issued the following statement after Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s official confirmation as Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC):
“On behalf of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and supporters of the National Jewish Democratic Council, we wish to express our joy and excitement for our dear friend Representative Wasserman Schultz now that she has officially assumed her new role as Chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Representative Wasserman Schultz entered Congress in 2005 and quickly became a leader in the House and on the political scene. She has consistently sponsored and fought for legislation supported by the vast majority of American Jews and was the architect of Jewish American Heritage Month, which is being celebrated this month. In addition, she is a long-time NJDC member and a former staffer. With her impeccable credentials and unique background, Wasserman Schultz stands as further proof that Jewish values are Democratic values and that the Democratic Party is the true political home for American Jews.
