WASHINGTON, DC – Marc R. Stanley, Chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), and Ira N. Forman, Executive Director of NJDC, released the following statement:
Minnesota's state canvassing board certified election results showing that Al Franken has won the vote recount for that state's U.S. Senate seat. We congratulate Franken on his victory. This was a hard fought election, but it is now time for Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN) to respect the wishes of Minnesota’s voters and honorably support the outcome of this election.
NJDC looks forward to working with Franken and welcomes him as the newest Jewish United States Senator.
