Jewish Democrats Mourn Loss of Ralph Goldman
Former head of American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee a giant in worldwide Jewish community
Washington, D.C. - The worldwide Jewish community joined in mourning today at the loss of Ralph Goldman, who passed away at the age of 100 in Jerusalem. A tremendously influential leader in the Jewish community, Goldman served as an advisor to Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion before becoming a driving force in the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.
NJDC Executive Director Rabbi Jack Moline stated,
“We, along with the Jewish people across the globe, mourn the loss of Ralph Goldman z"l, a remarkable figure in Jewish and Israeli affairs. Goldman strove to positively impact the global Jewish community throughout his life, setting an example that we should all be so blessed to follow. In particular, his efforts with the JDC were invaluable, as he laid the groundwork for a Jewish humanitarian presence on a global scale and cultivated generations of Jewish leadership. His relentless efforts on behalf of global Jewry and the livelihood of the State of Israel have left a permanent impact on the history of our people. Our condolences go to Goldman’s loved ones and to the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, where his loss is felt so profoundly.”
