Forman: With the launch of Rabbis for Health Insurance Reform, we are encouraging rabbis to speak up and take action to help ensure that Congress passes health insurance reform in this congressional session.
WASHINGTON, DC: Today, the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) launched Rabbis for Health Insurance Reform at http://www.rabbisforhealthcare.org to bring together rabbis to advocate for comprehensive health insurance reform.
NJDC is asking rabbis to join their colleagues at www.rabbisforhealthcare.org and let Congress know that rabbis support health insurance reform to ensure that affordable health care is available for all Americans.
“Presidents since Teddy Roosevelt have tried and failed to reform our system, because they’ve been caught up in political point scoring or derailed by special interests who want nothing more than to maintain the status quo,” said Ira N. Forman, NJDC’s CEO. “With the launch of Rabbis for Health Insurance Reform, we are encouraging rabbis to speak up and take action to help ensure that Congress passes health insurance reform in this congressional session. Health insurance reform can wait no longer - we need to take action on this critical issue now.”
