Listed in: NJDC News, Press Releases

Kentucky State Treasurer and NJDC Member Jonathan Miller has filed a letter of intent to run for Governor of Kentucky in 2007.

First elected statewide as Kentucky's State Treasurer in 1999 and now completing his second term, Jonathan will team up with Jefferson County Attorney Irv Maze in his candidacy for governor. The two are expected to headline a potentially crowded file of candidates.

According to his official bio, State Treasurer Miller was the leading advocate for Kentucky's Affordable Prepaid Tuition (KAPT) program, on which he campaigned in 1999. During his time in office, he has worked to improve the financial literacy of Kentucky families and challenged the state's lottery commission to return more funding to Kentucky schools.

NJDC congratulates Jonathan, thanks him for his support of NJDC and wishes him, wife Lisa and their daughters, Emily and Abigail well in this very exciting campaign.
