WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) released a person-on-the-street video of Israelis thanking President Barack Obama for his tremendous support for Israel—particularly his unprecedented leadership on multilayered missile defense.
“President Barack Obama’s strong support for Israel has been recognized by Israeli leaders such as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, as well as many pro-Israel leaders here in the United States,” said David A. Harris, President and CEO of the National Jewish Democratic Council. “Today, we’re hearing what Israelis living on the front lines think.”
This video montage features Israelis in both Sderot and Jerusalem praising Obama for helping Israel, especially for his leadership in funding the crucial “Iron Dome” missile defense system.
Video excerpts from interviews with Israelis include:
“Sderot is important to him. The Jewish people are important to him. The State of Israel is important to him. … Obama is sympathetic to our problems and he supports the protection of the citizens of Israel,” said Sasson Sara, resident of Sderot.
“I trust President Obama. There is no doubt in my mind (that) he knows what he is doing,” said David Segev, resident of Sderot.
“Before the Iron Dome I was afraid to fall asleep because every time the siren went off, I knew I had to run to safety. Now, with the Iron Dome existing, I am a lot less fearful,” said Chaim Yosef, resident of Sderot.
