WASHINGTON, D.C. - Yesterday, while addressing a Jewish audience, Rudy Giuliani boasted about taking a tough stance on Saudi Arabia as Mayor of New York when he refused to accept a $10 million check for New York City from a Saudi Prince. However, Giuliani neglected to mention that his company, Bracewell & Giuliani lobbied for the Saudi government.
"Sure, Giuliani can talk the talk," said NJDC Executive Director Ira N. Forman."But he certainly cannot walk the walk. His corporate connections are eerily similar to those of the current administration's Halliburton ties. This country surely does not need another president who talks tough but whose policies pander to Islamic states with large oil resources, and with whom there are corporate associations.
In May, the Associated Press reported that: "Giuliani's law and lobbying clients have included Saudi Arabia, Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., and chewing tobacco maker UST Inc." [AP, 5/14/07]
