WASHINGTON, DC - Marc R. Stanley, Chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), released the following statement:

Today, President Barack Obama made a strong selection in nominating Governor Kathleen Sebelius, a good friend of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

An estimated 46 million Americans are without health insurance and millions more have inadequate health insurance coverage. We must start finding solutions to solve our health care crisis. With the leadership of the President and Sebelius, the prospect for real health care reform has never looked better.
