Statement from NJDC Executive Director Ira Forman on Bush Decision to Commute Libby Sentence

Listed in: GOP Hypocrisies, NJDC News, Press Releases

WASHINGTON - Today, President Bush commuted the sentence of former Vice Presidential Chief of Staff Scooter Libby. In response, NJDC released the following statement from Executive Director Ira N. Forman:

"President Bush's decision to pardon Scooter Libby is yet another example of an Administration viewing itself as above the law. Americans will remember this when they go to the polls in 2008. Scooter Libby deserves the same treatment as any other convicted felon. It is sad that the White House apparently believes that there should be a different set of rules for their political insiders and allies than for everybody else."
