1 The New York Times notes, “Data for 2008 were collected by Edison Media Research/Mitofsky International based on questionnaires completed by 17,836  voters leaving 300 polling places around the nation on Election Day and 2,378 telephone interviews with absentee and early voters. The survey in 2004 was conducted by Edison /Mitofsky; in 1996 and 2000 Voters News Service; in 1992 by Voter Research and Survey; and in earlier years by The New York Times and CBS News.”
