Gallup Finds Obama at 74% of the Jewish Vote

Today, the monthly averages of Gallup Poll Daily shows that Jewish voters “now favor Obama over John McCain by more than 3 to 1, 74% to 22%.”

“Though we will only know the final numbers on election night, the trend is clearly in Senator Barack Obama’s direction,” stated Ira N. Forman, Executive Director of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC).

“More than any year in the past, Republican operatives have crowed about the increasing proportion of the Jewish vote going to Republicans this year. In fact, for every election since at least 1972 we’ve heard ‘sky is falling’ predictions concerning the Democratic proportion of the vote. However, it looks like this is going to be one more year when political pundits, some in the media, Jewish Republicans, and other partisans were wrong in their over the top forecasts,” said Forman. “We have to wait and see what Election Day exit polls bring, but for now Gallup is reporting, ‘[t]he Obama/Biden ticket is poised to perform about on par with other recent Democratic presidential tickets when it comes to support from American Jewish voters.’”

But I repeatedly have read and seen on TV that for whatever reason Obama had a “Jewish” problem, or at least that’s the GOP-fostered tale the mainstream media promulgated month after month, and is still pushing. Who’d have ever thought they’d get it wrong. /sarcasm

As a Jewish voter, I continually seek facts about opposing points of view.  My parents have significantly different opinions than I do.  I find your flip flop articles very weak in their logic.  I have Jewish friends who’s parents were born in Cuba.  I found it curious that they are staunch republicans.  After much discussion, I realized that their experience with an extreme Socialist dictatorship, where they lost all their possessions, and many lives, the Cuban Jews are mostly anti LEFT or Socialist.  Now, with my New York Jewish family, who’s grandparents came from Russia…their most memorable experience was the holocaust.  That painful and tragic memory at the hands of a RIGHT WING, FASCIST DICTATOR left a hatred that will carry on for generations.  I then gave additional thoughts to the blacks and why they predominantly vote Democratic.  Once again, it deals with their parent’s or grandparent’s horrible memories and stories that they pass on to their children and grandchildren.  No different than my grandparents passed on, etc.  We are all a product of our history.  Don’t forget history, however, don’t let history get in the way of your future.  Think about the candidates, their stands, and how their actions will gravely affect our kid’s history.

Peace

There are still 22% who are willing to vote for McCain?  Is that meshugge or what?
