GOP Critic of Israel’s Military Aid for President?

NJDC — April 17, 2013 – 2:03 pm | Israel | Military | Rand Paul | Republicans Comments (0) Add a comment

The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) Executive Director Aaron Keyak issued the following statement in response to Senator Rand Paul’s (R-KY) announcement that he is considering a 2016 presidential run:

“Senator Rand Paul is quite possibly the most naïve member of the Senate when it comes to Israel. He has a consistent record of calling for cuts to Israel’s military aid and is the only Senator who refuses to rule out a containment strategy for Iran. These positions are unacceptable for anyone who claims to be a friend of Israel-let alone someone seeking the presidency. Pro-Israel Republicans have failed to stop Paul’s rapid ascent to this point. Now, with his presidential chatter, they need step up and counter his growing legitimacy within the GOP.”
