“U.S. Rebukes U.N. Official for Sharp Words”

The President of the United Nations General Assembly, Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann, was rebuked by the administration of President Barack Obama for “his frequent public attacks against the United States and Israel are undercutting the standing of the world’s most representative body.”

In the past, “D’Escoto also has accused Israel of ‘crucifying our Palestinian brothers and sisters’ and labeled Israel an ‘apartheid state.’ He has called for a boycott of Israel as a reaction to the Jewish state’s incursion into Gaza.”

Supporters of the President are not surprised by these kinds of actions, but it will certainly be interesting to see how Obama’s right-wing critics will spin this rebuke to show that this administration is somehow anti-Israel.

Don’t think they can do it? See their response to the President’s Durban II policy.

Is anyone here troubled by the Presidents intention to give approximately $900 million in aid intended for UNRWA. I fear that this money might end up in the wrong hands and cause more bloodshed.
