As part of the ongoing AIPAC Policy Conference today, U.S. National Security Advisor Susan Rice and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power both addressed the assembly, reaffirming the United States’ commitment to the safety and security of Israel as well as to the prevention of Iran gaining a nuclear weapon. The National Jewish Democratic Council praised the high-ranking White House officials while reaffirming the organization’s support for the ongoing P5+1 diplomatic negotiations.

Greg Rosenbaum, chair of the NJDC Board of Directors, stated,

“Susan Rice and Samantha Power have proven themselves, through words and actions, to be among Israel’s most stalwart friends over their careers in public service. Ambassador Power’s leadership has led to a 100% pro-Israel voting record at the United Nations, while National Security Advisor Rice has defended Israel’s right to self-defense and to exist as a Jewish state time and time again. Both of these leaders made it abundantly clear that the United States will continue to ensure the safety and security of Israel. As Rice stated, “The relationship between the U.S. and Israel is non-negotiable. It grows l’dor v’dor - from generation to generation.” We look forward to working with Susan Rice, Samantha Power and the entire Obama administration in doing everything possible to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, including supporting diplomatic talks and working to ensure that all options remain on the table.”
