Here’s something for Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) and Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) to think about: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “very satisfied” with President Barack Obama’s speech to the United Nations General Assembly and considers it a “positive” step toward peace. According to The Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu said:

Obama’s speech “expressed his resolute support for a Jewish state, [for Israel] as the country for the Jewish people.”

Netanyahu also told CNN:

“I think that President Obama’s commitment to Israel has been expressed very loud, very clearly by him. And I think this reflects the underlying friendship between our two countries. It’s very strong.”

Cantor and Chaffetz should think about this the next time they question Obama’s friendship with Israel and his commitment to the Jewish people.
