The Times of Israel and the AP have reported that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit the State of Israel later this month, most likely on July 16-17. The visit will be the final stop in a tour of the Middle East, with much of Clinton’s focus being on the ongoing crisis in Syria.

The Times of Israel and the AP wrote:

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has begun a lengthy overseas trip that will take her first to France for an international conference on Syria, then to Asia for regional meetings and finally to the Middle East, where she will see Egypt’s new president and then visit Israel.

Clinton is expected in Israel on July 16-17 when she will meet with Israeli leaders. There have also been reports that she will meet in Ramallah with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Secretary of State left Washington on Thursday for Paris, where she will participate in a meeting of the Friends of Syria, a group of nations trying to end the ongoing crisis in the country. From there, she heads to Tokyo for an Afghanistan donors conference on Sunday.

While in Asia, Clinton will also visit Mongolia, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, where she will attend a Southeast Asian security gathering. She will then travel to Egypt and wrap up her trip in Israel.
