Happy 85th Birthday to NJDC Treasurer Sheldon Cohen

NJDC — June 28, 2012 – 4:07 pm | Democrats Comments (1) Add a comment

The entire NJDC family wishes our Treasurer Sheldon Cohen a very happy 85th birthday today. Cohen has been a key leader in our organization and we look forward to many more years of his involvement.

Cohen served as the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service from 1965 until 1969 and has had a long and storied career as one of American’s top tax attorneys. The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington noted that Cohen “was among the first Washington-born Jews to be appointed to the highest levels of government, and, at age 36, among the youngest.”

How nice of you to take note of Dad’s special birthday. Throughout his life he has always found time and energy for important issues and to help those in need. We are proud of him and the priority he has also placed on being a great husband, father and grandfather.
