Some of This Week’s Questionable Republican Statements and Actions

Sari Weintraub — July 23, 2010 – 8:34 am | Election 2010 | Republicans Comments (4) Add a comment

Below is a sampling of this week’s questionable Republican statements and actions:

  • Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) claimed that the “radical left” is destroying the “just cause” of the U.S. military by being pro-choice.
  • Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) called Glenn Beck “a terrific human being” and said that Beck “help[s] people understand politics and understand virtues and principles.”
  • Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle (R-NV) held a “press conference” during which she spoke for three minutes and then quickly left without answering any questions.
  • Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) unveiled the new House Tea Party Caucus at a logistically confusing press conference. During the conference she distributed an incorrect list of caucus members and declared that “adding Skype” would be a policy goal of the new caucus.
  • At the same press conference, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told reporters that his only idea for the Tea Party Caucus thus far was to pass a law requiring members of Congress to cite the Constitution when sponsoring new legislation.

I’m all too familiar with how dangerously stupid many people in the “Tea (carpet bagger’s) Party” are.
But for many in the party also it’s really about greed and hateful selfishness.

I really wonder about the DNA of these people. Can there be a link to Neanderthel man? No, even that species may have shown authentic compassion occasionally.

What about the idiotic comment of Glenn Beck that the Jews killed Jesus.  Why hasn’t the media condemned that comment?
