Today, members of the Women’s Leadership Network, along with Terry McAuliffe supporters worked hard to turn out the vote!
Here is a quick reminder about what is at stake in this key election:
The Democrats
Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate for Governor, will support Virginia women.
- He trusts women to make their own healthcare decisions
- He won’t let politicians come between a woman and her doctor
- He wants to make sure all Virginians have access to affordable healthcare
Mark Herring, the Democratic candidate for Attorney General, will support Virginia women.
- He will repeal the extreme policies that the Republicans, led by Ken Cuccinelli have passed.
- He will work to reduce gun violence
- He will ensure paycheck fairness in Virginia
The Republicans
Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican candidate for Governor, has quite the record:
- He has worked to deny affordable healthcare to Virginians
- He does not support birth control or safe and legal abortion
- He supports personhood measures, which outlaw common forms of birth control
Mark Obenshain, the Republican candidate for Attorney General, is more of the same.
- He introduced a bill that would mandate women have to report miscarriages to the police
- He has worked to make ultrasounds mandatory before an abortion
