No one has ever charged the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) with being too scrupulous about sticking to the facts. The most recent example of the RJC’s limited familiarity with the truth is their rambling fit of pique with the NJDC that was recently featured on the RJC’s blog.
Their blog claims that the RJC is a paragon of political courage because in 1991 it “stood up” to the Bush administration’s pressure on Israel. The only problem with this claim is that the proof of the RJC’s “profile in courage” is a link to a scanned 1991 article in the Norwalk, Connecticut Hour which never even mentions the RJC. It does mention three individuals (prominent Jewish Republicans) who sent an apparently non-critical letter to President Bush arguing for loan guarantees for Israel.
This is not the first time RJC has gotten its citations wrong, nor is it the first time (not even the first time this year) that the RJC’s veracity has been publicly challenged.
