Health Care Reform Vote Approaching

David Streeter — March 19, 2010 – 9:07 am | Congress | Democrats | Health Care Comments (0) Add a comment

President Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats are moving closer and closer towards comprehensive health care reform. This week, Obama and Vice President Joe Biden traveled throughout the country speaking directly to the American people about the benefits of Obama’s plan. It appears that their approach is bearing fruit because the last remaining Democratic “no” votes, including the House Hispanic Caucus, appear to be changing their minds and falling in behind Obama. Obama even delayed his upcoming trip to Asia so that he can be in Washington to continue lining up votes and ensure that reform passes.

Additionally, the Congressional Budget Office released a report today stating that the proposed health care reform bills will reduce the federal deficit by over $100 billion dollars over the course of a decade.

The vote is expected for Sunday. If you have not already done so, please call your Representative and urge him or her to vote “yes” on health care reform. If they have already pledged to vote “yes,” please call them and thank them.
