The Jerusalem Post reported that Israel is now protecting the city of Ashdod with its third Obama Administration-funded Iron Dome battery.

According to JPost:

The Israel Air Force deployed a third battery of the Iron Dome rocket defense system outside Ashdod on Wednesday, beating the deadline Defense Minister Ehud Barak set for next week.

Barak, who had said earlier this week that it would take 10 days until the battery was deployed near Ashdod, praised the IDF and the IAF Air Defense Division on Wednesday for beating the deadline and beginning the deployment before the opening of the school year….

The battery joined two others stationed in the South - one outside Ashkelon and one near Beersheba - which successfully intercepted a few dozen Gazan rockets during the recent escalation.

Ashdod Mayor Yehiel Lasri issued a statement thanking the defense establishment for deploying the system outside his city.

And:

Barak said that by the end of 2012 Israel would have nine operational Iron Dome batteries, including thousands of Tamir interceptors. Each interceptor costs around $50,000 and usually two are fired at rockets slated for interception.

Earlier this year, the US gave Israel $205 million to buy four more Iron Dome batteries.

Each battery consists of three launchers equipped with 20 Tamir interceptors and is reportedly capable of protecting an urban area of approximately 150 square kilometers.

Earlier this week, The Washington Times reported that the Iron Dome has performed successfully at an 85% efficiency level against short-range rockets fired toward civilian areas. Click here to learn more.

On May 9, 2011, Haaretz published that Defense Ministry director general Maj. Gen. (res.) Udi Shani said that Israel plans to invest nearly $1 billion in the coming years for the development and production of Iron Dome batteries. “We are no longer approaching this in terms of initial operational capabilities but are defining the final target for absorbing the systems, in terms of schedule and funds. We are talking about [having] 10-15 Iron Dome batteries. We will invest nearly $1 billion on this. This is the goal, in addition to the $205 million that the U.S. government has authorized,” Shani said.[17]

And they wouldn’t need all this if the NJDC supported OBAMA ADMINISTRATION and S wasn’t COZY with the far left in the U.S. that is SUPPORTING HAMAS AND HEZBULLAH.

You have a lot of chutzpah claiming credit for this while YOUR PRESIDENT has been snubbing Israel, whining, demanding pullbacks and doing NOTHING to stop arab terrorism.

PS I was a registered Dem for FORTY YEARS. Like Ed Koch I AM DONE with this adminstration and it’s backhanded treatment of Israel, and am DONE with your lies and attempt to pretend it isn’t so.

Any Jew who pulls the D lever this year is not only voting for more of an Obama recession but for a knife in the back of Israel
