NJDC Saddened by Sen. Lautenberg Announcement

NJDC — February 14, 2013 – 4:06 pm | Comments (0) Add a comment

National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) Chair Marc R. Stanley issued the following statement in response to the news that Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) will not be seeking re-election:

The National Jewish Democratic Council is saddened by the news that Senator Frank Lautenberg will not be seeking re-election. Lautenberg has been an important voice in the Senate for many years and he will leave behind an outstanding legacy of public service that makes the Jewish community proud. Jewish Democrats around the country will miss his stalwart support for the U.S.-Israel relationship and his leadership on progressive domestic policies supported by the vast majority of American Jews. We wish Lautenberg the best of luck in his post-Senate career.
