The National Jewish Democratic Council rejoices in the 66^th Independence Day of the State of Israel, the national homeland of the Jewish people.

As the Middle East’s only democracy, Israel serves as a beacon of hope for all who aspire to peace and freedom. As an unshakeable ally of the United States, Israel is a dependable partner for progress and human dignity. As the epicenter of world Jewish culture, Israel has become the laboratory for our ancient tradition renewed in manifold expressions.

Our wish for Israel in the coming year is peace and prosperity within secure borders and neighbors who value cooperation over conflict. To President Peres and Prime Minister Netanyahu and all the people of the State of Israel, may you go from strength to strength from generation to generation.
