WASHINGTON, DC- National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) Executive Director Rabbi Jack Moline issued the following statement in response to the news that Representative Henry Waxman (D-CA) will not be seeking re-election:

“The National Jewish Democratic Council is saddened by the news that our dear friend, the most respected Congressman Henry Waxman will not be seeking re-election. Known as the “Dean of the Jewish Delegation” Waxman has been a Champion of Jewish causes- Clean Air Act, climate change, food and ddrug safety, affordable health care, the plight of Holocaust survivors and the US-Israel relationship.

Waxman has been a true friend to NJDC over the years and we will miss his powerful voice in Congress. We wish him and his family only the best.”
