NJDC Stands with President Obama in Powerfully Condemning Terror Attacks

National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) Chairman Marc R. Stanley and President and CEO David A. Harris today issued the following statement:

Yesterday’s Hamas attack against Israeli citizens was a despicable crime, clearly aimed at derailing negotiations before they even start. We stand with President Barack Obama, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and everyone who has condemned these attacks including Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. And we agree with all of the parties that these talks must proceed.

As the President importantly reiterated this afternoon while standing with Prime Minister Netanyahu, ‘The United States is going to be unwavering in its support of Israel’s security. We are going to push back against these types of terrorist activities. The message should go out to Hamas and everybody else who is taking credit for these heinous crimes that this is not going to stop us from not only ensuring a secure Israel but also securing a longer-lasting peace.’ Indeed even as it is incumbent upon the Palestinian Authority to continue searching for the perpetrators of this horrific act, we can and will continue to move towards a future that further marginalizes Hamas and brings about a peaceful settlement between Israelis and Palestinians.
