Lautenberg’s doctors have noted that they believe the Senator has an excellent prognosis, and he is expected to make a full recovery and be back on the Senate floor very soon. Throughout his long career, Lautenberg has been a prominent voice for Jewish Democrats on issues ranging from promoting a strong US-Israel relationship to enacting social policies consistent with the Jewish values of Tikkun Olam.
