As part of Jewish American Heritage Month, the White House announced that it will host a reception on May 27 to celebrate the contributions made by American Jews to American culture. According to the White House, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will host a wide range of Jewish communal leaders, athletes, scholars, and even Jewish astronauts. As Haaretz has reported, the event will mark “the first ever White House reception honoring Jewish American Heritage Month.”
