Last night, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren attended the White House’s annual Ramadan Iftar celebration alongside Muslim and non-Muslim leaders from the United States and abroad. The White House’s annual Iftar celebration dates back to President Bill Clinton’s years in office and this year was the first year that Israel’s Ambassador attended. David A. Harris, NJDC’s President, described Oren’s attendance as “a powerful gesture [that] breathes new life into the words [President] Obama gave voice to in Cairo.”
