This week, we launched a new ad on Senator John McCain’s ties to big oil. This is the latest ad in a national ad campaign that will continue to appear in local Jewish newspapers across the country until Election Day.

"Senator John McCain’s ties to big oil and his repeated votes against renewable energy shows that he isn’t serious about getting off our dependence on Middle East oil," said Ira N. Forman, Executive Director of NJDC.

The ad, which focuses on energy independence, states:

Energy independence?

McCain’s ties to Big Oil keep us dependent on Middle East oil.

John McCain has promised to give $4 billion in tax breaks to Big Oil while it is raking in record profits. He has collected more than $1.6 million in campaign contributions from oil and gas executives and employees. McCain isn’t serious about getting us off our dependence on foreign oil since he has repeatedly voted against renewable energy, even missing two key votes where he could have been the tie breaker.

It’s time to end our dependence on Middle East oil.
