Source of life and wisdom:

Your servant Abraham Joshua Heschel declared that when he marched with Dr. King, he was praying with his feet.

Today we pray with our hands

in recognition that equal work deserves equal pay

Today we pray with our eyes

so that we see that an inadequate minimum wage condemns full-time workers to poverty

Today we pray with our ears

and hear the voices of “dreamers” who have embraced America

Today we pray with our legs

by standing up against discrimination because of who you are and who you love

Today we pray with our arms

by opening them to comprehensive immigration reform that welcomes immigrants as all of our ancestors once were

Today we pray with our hearts

for those who would be eligible for extended unemployment insurance

Today we pray with our healing touch

to reassure patients that they deserve the best affordable health care

Today we pray with our whole selves

for the ability for all Americans to still believe that the American dream is achievable

Today we pray.

Tomorrow we vote.
