Below is a sampling of this week’s questionable Republican statements and actions:

• Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle (R-HI) vetoed a bill that would have allowed civil unions for same-sex couples in Hawaii.
• Nevada Senate Candidate Sharron Angle (R-NV) referred to the $20 billion escrow fund from BP as a “slush fund” during a radio interview. She also delivered a conspiracy theory-laden rant during the same interview.
• It was also revealed this week that Angle has defended her anti-choice positions by encouraging rape and incest victims to make “a lemon situation into lemonade.”
• Illinois Senate Candidate Representative Mark Kirk (R-IL) was caught again embellishing his military record.
• Incumbent Arizona Senator John McCain’s (R-AZ) campaign came under fire for allegedly abusing the copyrighted image of an infomercial pitchman.
