Below are some of Tuesday’s questionable right-wing statements and decisions:

  • Outside of the Kentucky Senatorial debate Monday night, apparent Rand Paul (R-KY) supporters forced a MoveOn.org employee to the curb and stomped on her head. The employee suffered a concussion but was released from the hospital Tuesday morning. The Huffington Post has a video of the incident.
  • Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle (R-NV) continued to avoid the press.
  • After defending her campaign’s use of a picture depicting “illegal aliens” by claiming they possibly crossed from the Canadian border and are not Latino, Angle’s most recent ad specifically included a picture of the El Paso, TX border crossing.
  • Ohio Gubernatorial candidate John Kasich (R-OH) canceled at the last minute on a scheduled appearance on NPR’s Talk of the Nation because he refused to answer questions from callers.
  • The former Mayor of Los Alamitos, CA, Dean Grose (R-CA) , infamous for sending a racist email about watermelons on the White House lawn, gained an endorsement by the local Republican Central Committee in his race for his old City Council seat.
  • The Tea Party Nation called for the defeat of Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) because, among other reasons, “He is the only Muslim member of congress.”
