WaPost’s Rubin Hits New Low with Attack on Sen. Lautenberg

As the Jewish and pro-Israel communities mourn the loss of Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), The Washington Post’s right wing blogger Jennifer Rubin sunk to a new low by shamefully attacking the late Senator’s pro-Israel record—along with the pro-Israel community.

Following Senator Lautenberg’s passing, a wide range of Jewish and pro-Israel organizations including the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, American Jewish Committee, B’nai Brith, and many others heaped praise upon the late Senator for his pro-Israel leadership. The Republican Jewish Coalition even joined with the Jewish community in praising his Israel record, and many of their fellow Republicans expressed condolences over his passing.

But not Rubin.

Rubin instead chose to pessimistically write a shameful and critical rant that will not be quoted on NJDC’s blog. In it, she attacked Senator Lautenberg’s pro-Israel bona fides and took swings at those who remembered Senator Lautenberg for what he was: an exemplary pro-Israel leader, WWII veteran, public servant, and true mensch.

May Senator Lautenberg’s memory be a blessing to us all.
