Today, Richard Greenberg of the Washington Jewish Week, wrote about Janette Hillis-Jaffee who decided to create a video in response to a lot of the misinformation being spread in the Jewish community.

The idea: Make a video to counteract the Republican Jewish Coalition ad campaign that has portrayed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a threat to Israel, if not America.

"I was appalled by them," said Hillis-Jaffee, 39, who had researched the ads, which have been appearing in WJW, and "found not one kernel of truth" in them.

She figured that her own background might give her effort to set the record straight added credibility.

An Orthodox Jew, Hillis-Jaffee lived in Jerusalem with her husband and small children from 1999 to 2004, in the midst of the second Intifada. During that time, she heard the boom of terrorist bombs four times and had to seal off a room in her home against possible chemical attacks from Saddam Hussein.

"I'm a lady in a hat with kids in kippot, and I experienced terror firsthand," she explained in an interview last week. "If I felt comfortable with Barack Obama, I thought others might also."

In case you haven't seen the video I've included it below and if you would like to read the rest of Greenberg's article please click here.
