Israel or Dirty Laundry: What’s on O’Donnell’s Mind?

As more and more of Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell’s (R-DE) dirty laundry airs out, it appears that laundry is actually among her top concerns. The News Journal reported from last night’s candidate forum between her and Democratic Senate candidate Chris Coons (D-DE):

The candidates fielded several questions about the nation’s role in peace talks in the Middle East and foreign aid to Israel.

Both said they support America’s role as a strong ally for Israel and favored continued peace talks between that nation and the Palestinian Authority.

When asked about cutting assistance to Israel in the annual foreign-aid bill, Coons said America should continue to back its strongest ally in the Middle East.

‘Our relationship with Israel is one of the longest and most important we have in the world,’ Coons said. ‘I would fight to sustain our foreign aid to Israel.’

O’Donnell said the nation should remain a strong ally of Israel, deferring specifics about cuts to the foreign-aid bill.

‘It would be irresponsible for me to say yes or no because I’ve been a little busy the last couple of days,’ O’Donnell said. ‘I haven’t had time to do laundry.’
