White House and Secretary Clinton Statements on the Itamar Terror Attack

David Streeter — March 14, 2011 – 12:40 pm | Barack Obama | Israel | Terrorism Comments (1) Add a comment

The Obama Administration issued the following statement in the immediate aftermath of this past weekend’s terror attack against Israeli civilians:

We condemn in the strongest possible terms the murder of five Israelis in a terrorist attack in the northern West Bank, and we offer our condolences to their loved ones and to the Israeli people. There is no possible justification for the killing of parents and children in their home. We call on the Palestinian Authority to unequivocally condemn this terrorist attack and for the perpetrators of this heinous crime to be held accountable.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also issued a forceful condemnation:

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the brutal murder of an Israeli family early Saturday morning in the West Bank. The United States condemns this appalling attack in the strongest possible terms. To kill three innocent children and their parents while they sleep is an inhuman crime for which there can be no justification. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victims and with all the people of Israel. The murderers must be found and brought to justice. Israeli security forces have launched a thorough investigation and we look to the Palestinian authorities to assist in every way possible.

Where are all the Albert Einsteins, Bertrand Russells, Linus Paulings, Isaac Asimovs, Maria Montessoris, Joan Baezes and Carl Sagans of the World Today?? Humanity needs Universalist Voices for Non-Violent Unity-in-Diversity, Tolerance of Tolerant Others and Spiritual & Scientific Reason & Ethics. I think Violence can be prevented, but not as long as my Philosophical Ideas on Infinity are deliberately ignored and shoved under the Big Red Carpet of Vanity’s Insanity! For Ego has never been the problem; simply Ego Unrestrained and Disrespectful of the Ego of others! We need Philosophic Role-Models; not Masters of Cleverly Devised Psychological Manipulation. These horrific attacks, regardless of who perpetrates them, regardless of what real or perceived injustices may have added fuel to the fire; do nothing but send us all rushing back into our own separate caves of barbarity, insecurity and inhumanity!
