The National Jewish Democratic Council extends a hearty mazal tov to our honorary co-chair Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) and his family following the birth of their newest child, Scarlett Willa Wyden.
The Washington Post reported:
Born: A daughter, Scarlett Willa, to Sen. Ron Wyden and Nancy Bass Wyden, in Portland, Ore., on Thursday. A healthy 7 pounds, 11 ounces, his staff told reporters. His fifth child (including two from his first marriage) and their third together, after twins born in 2007. The news that the Oregon Democrat and his wife were expecting, at ages 63 and 51, came as a surprise (“Yes, it sounds incredible,” he wrote in a note to staff last spring announcing her pregnancy)...
The AP reported:
Wyden’s office says Scarlett Willa Wyden was born at 8:51 a.m. Thursday at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, and that the mother and newborn are doing fine. The girl weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.
We congratulate Senator Wyden and Mrs. Wyden, as well as their family, on their newest addition and we look forward to the day when Scarlett will join NJDC—just like her father.
