Gallup’s new poll data, reported on September 14, shows that Jewish support for President Barack Obama over Mitt Romney is stronger than ever. Gallup found:

President Barack Obama is closing [sic] extending his lead with Jewish voters, leading among registered voters 70-25 percent according to unreleased Gallup daily tracking poll data.

Gallup noted:

Despite a heated debate on Israel, most Jewish voters are Democrats and align closely with the Democratic Party on domestic issues from abortion to taxes and spending, and Republicans have tried without success for years to pry the group away from the Democratic Party.

survey by the American Jewish Committee in April showed that Jewish voters supported Obama over Romney by a margin of 61/28 percent; a Gallup poll in June had Obama leading 64/29 percent, and by July, Gallup had Obama leading 68/25 percent. Now, according to Gallup, there is a whopping 45-point gap between Obama and Romney. This polling trend further demonstrates that the more American Jews get to know Romney, the less they like him—even as Republicans devote unprecedented resources to try and “pry” Jewish voters away from Obama and the Democratic Party.
