Anti-Israel Leader Disappointed By Obama’s Commitment to Israel

Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, publicly stated that President Barack Obama is fully committed to Israel’s “interests and security.” Israel’s Yediot Aronot reports of Nasrallah:

He [Nasrallah] said the world hoped that the new leadership in the US would ‘try and change the savage American policy, but the result was a complete American commitment to Israel’s interests and security.’

As bizarre as this sounds, Nasrallah is right. Obama is committed to Israel’s security and pursuit of peace. Yet right wing pundits continue to spew lies, claiming that Obama is “pro-Arab” or “pro-Palestinian.” Perhaps those same pundits should listen to the man who they think Obama supports. Maybe Nasrallah’s claim will mean more than Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s public praise and Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren’s declaration that Obama and the U.S. stand “foursquare beside us [Israel].”

Regardless of who you choose to listen to, Obama supports Israel. Period.
