Oren: There was Never a U.S.-Israel Crisis

In an interview with The Jerusalem Post, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S. declared that there was never a “crisis” between the United States and Israel. The Post writes:

[When a]sked about the apparently rocky relations between the US and Israel which some have described as undergoing a ‘crisis,’ Oren insisted that ‘there never was one. There were disagreements on certain topics, but under the surface, the relations have breadth and depth, with cooperation spanning over strategic, security and cultural issues. Most of the disagreements are behind us.’

Oren’s statements are similar to his speech at NJDC’s conference three weeks ago, when he declared that President Barack Obama and the U.S. stand “foursquare beside us [Israel].”

Despite Oren’s statements and praise from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), baseless charges of anti-Israel bias are still leveled at Obama and his administration. Apparently Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Oren, AIPAC, and even the right-wing Zionist Organization of America do not have enough combined clout to convince fanatics that Obama supports Israel
