NJDC Applauds the Senate’s Passage of Iran Sanctions

Last night the Senate passed its own version of the House’s Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act. The National Jewish Democratic Council enthusiastically applauds the Senate’s swift action and considers it a step in the right direction towards preventing a nuclear-armed Iran. NJDC also commends the Senate’s Democratic leadership for advancing this legislation and working together in a bipartisan fashion with committed Republicans to ensure that nuclear weapons remain out of the reach of Iran’s repressive regime. This legislative step further builds upon the commitment shown by President Barack Obama and the Democratic-led Congress to strengthen American security in the face of international terrorism and nuclear proliferation, while strategically supporting our close ally Israel.

Everyone knows that sanctions won’t do a thing unless
Russia cooperates, which they won’t.
